Alles Schöne kommt vom Spiel. Die Form ist Resultat.
Spiel ist eine der ureigensten menschlichen Betätigungen. Ihm sind wesentliche und grundsätzliche Erkenntnisse und Erfindungen zu verdanken. Das gilt für Philosophie und Technik und zuvorderst für die Künste, die neue Wege öffnen.
Das Rad wurde nicht erfunden, um damit Lasten zu transportieren, sondern seiner reinen Schönheit wegen. Weil es die Sonne als Urform imitiert. Es war Kultobjekt. Aus der runden Form wurde später seine Funktion abgeleitet: rollen und bewegen. Form follows function, sicher doch, aber zuerst folgt die Funktion dem Spiel. Forschen heißt probieren, ableiten, sich auch spielerisch versuchend nach vorne tasten.
Der Mensch findet absichtsvoll in der Suche und zufällig im Spiel. Neue Formen, Kombinationen, Farbkonstellationen, Assoziationen – all sie werden auch spielerisch gefunden. Und da sie vom Spielenden gefunden und als schön erkannt werden, sind die Ergebnisse stets individuell geprägt. Schönheit liegt auch immer in der individuellen Abweichungen zur gängigen Norm. Das ist die ureigene Qualität von Kunst.
FORM SPIEL ist eine Sammlung verschiedener, aktueller, meist plastischer Positionen von in Berlin lebenden und arbeitenden Künstler*innen, zusammengestellt von Jan Kage, Leiter des Kunstraums SCHAU FENSTER und der Galerie Kanya&Kage.

STUDIO BERLIN
REOPENING WITH NEW WORKS ON JUNE 18, 2021
The STUDIO BERLIN exhibition in Berghain, organized by the Boros Foundation, presents works of contemporary artists who live and work in Berlin. The show features national and international perspectives in the fields of photography, sculpture, painting, video, sound and installation. After being closed for eight months, the exhibition, which was only accessible for a few weeks last year, will reopen on June 18.
The exhibition space was altered during the period of closure. The adjoining Halle am Berghain is no longer part of the show; instead, spaces that are still unknown to the public have been integrated. In addition to the works that were already on view in the initial version of the exhibition, works by Monira Al Qadiri & Raed Yassin, Andrea Büttner, Haris Epaminonda, Bastian Gehbauer, Hannah Hallermann, Constantin Hartenstein, Camille Henrot, Amalie Jakobsen, Tony Just, Simon Mullan, Kirsten Pieroth, Mary-Audrey Ramirez, Aaron Scheer, Nadine Schemmann, Marianna Simnett, Sung Tieu and Kandis Williams will be on display. New works will be integrated throughout the exhibition continuously.
Artists’ studios are venues for discussion, reflection, translation, analysis, and conceptual thinking. The focus of the exhibition is still the studio as a space for contemplation and production.
